Councilman Fred Glynn is particularly proud of his county’s people because of the kind of dedication they consistently put in, even after many years of service to the public. In this blog, he features the excellent men and women who have served in Hamilton County.

Recently, Hamilton County honored a total of 131 employees for their years of service. Every year, the county, through the Board of Commissioners and the Human Resources Department, recognizes individuals for their lengthy service at the end of every five years of employment, making the presentation of service awards a regular affair that people look forward to each year, shares Fred Glynn.

According to Human Resources Director Sheena Randall, the goal is to provide the citizens and taxpayers of Hamilton County the most responsive governmental services possible. This entails that the county employs top-quality personnel, giving them meaningful work, and retaining their services.

A couple of honorees of note in this year’s batch of awardees are Hamilton County Auditor Robin Mills and Lynette Duvall, the latter being a caseworker in the Prosecutor’s Office. They have both been in the service for 40 years.

Duvall shared that what made things work for her for this long is that she truly enjoys her job and that she has been taken care of with excellent benefits like health insurance, paid holidays, and a 37.5-hour work week, in all her years of service.

As for Robin Mills, what has made things all worth the while is the stability and job growth provided by Hamilton County and the mentoring that makes everyone in the service so awesome to work with.
